“Would You Believe
That No Matter How Many Times
You’ve Failed At Dieting,
The Secret To Permanent Weight Loss
Could Be … Food Itself?”

The answer is YES … no matter what shape you are presently in –

  • Does food feel more powerful than you?
  • Do you have no self-control around food?
  • Have you ever thought that you hate yourself?
  • Does that feeling lead you to want to eat more?
  • Why do you eat when you’re not hungry?
  • Do you often feel like a failure?

– you can change everything and reclaim the body and the life you deserve RIGHT NOW as the answers are here within reach!

Are you sick and tired of feeling like a failure? Are you at a complete loss as to why although you have all the essential tools to lose weight at your disposal, you still can’t seem to get lasting results while others can?

Well you’re in the right place! The answer to the question, “Why can’t I lose weight and KEEP it off for good” is here within these pages.

Are you at the end of your rope? Perhaps you’ve tried every diet program under the sun, you’ve spent hours at the gym, tried various personal trainers and nutritionists and have even lost weight, but you’ve put it all back on and then some. But “WHY?” You’re exactly right and you’re asking the right question!

Dany's Transformation

What I came to understand is that whether it’s 10 pounds or 100 pounds, the secret to losing weight is not in the “HOW”. The “HOW” is always on the outside, the dieting, the cardio, the strength training, the proper nutrition, personal trainers and gym memberships.

Chances are you know how to do the “HOW” but you haven’t been able to sustain the motivation long term to keep the weight loss off.

Well, before we go any further, let me be clear on one thing, no matter what you have heard, dieting is not the answer to losing weight. There’s a reason why the first 3 letters to the word is DIE!

Does dieting just lead you further into self-hatred and self-loathing? Doesn’t dieting make you feel crazed about yourself and obsessed about food no matter if you’re heavy or thin?

The problem with all of the “HOW” approaches you have exhausted in the past is that the responsibility for weight loss, success or failure, places accountability on something other than you and we do this subconsciously. “WHY?”

Because if your weight loss goals aren’t reached or sustained long term, the blame can be placed on how these systems failed rather than looking within to better understand what is at the root of the weight problem and is keeping you from achieving your goals.

You feel so beat down by your lifetime of struggling to find peace within yourself and with your body, it’s only natural for you to eventually conclude that it’s because of something that is outside of your control. This belief dis-empowers rather than empowers you.

The truth is however, control isn’t something that’s snatched away from you; it’s something you decide to give away through your behavior.

Although the “HOW” elements are all necessary, if you don’t understand “WHY” you eat compulsively or when you’re not hungry, the torturous repetition of yo-yo dieting will literally lead you down a path of self destruction.

I don’t mean to say this to be overly dramatic, but only to be realistically honest. If you don’t understand why you see others achieving dramatic weight loss and can’t figure out why you haven’t had similar results, your answer is within your question of “WHY”?

“WHY” can’t I achieve the same results? The answer is that although you may think you know, the real “WHY” isn’t so obvious. Your belief that the weight loss will bring your life back within your control is inaccurate.

Millions upon millions of people lose weight each year and end up feeling no happier when they’re without the weight than they were with it.

The non-stop losing and regaining of the same 30, 70, 100+ pounds leads you down that path to …

The Yo-yo Syndrome

I’m Johnny King, Certified Personal Trainer & Nutritionist and as a Health and Fitness Coach I have had the unique experience of seeing first hand how proper or improper weight loss strategies and behavior can send you into this never ending lose and regain, lose and regain pattern that I’ve heard referred to as the “Yo-yo Syndrome”.

Several years ago, after a lifetime of losing and regaining the same 50 pounds, my mother passed away at the youthful age of 61. Now, three years later my father who struggled along side her on their yo-yo dieting roller coaster has lost over 100+ pounds at the age of 63 without dieting and has remained thin for years. Was it the reality of losing a spouse that scared him into taking better care of himself?

Surprisingly, no, he came to understand that what was standing between his genuine desires to lose the weight and actually sustaining the weight loss, was his own limiting beliefs.

He began understanding how studies have shown that when a person starves, dieting on a very low calorie plan, for every ten pounds of weight they lose, four to six pounds can come from muscle. Muscles contain water, vitamins, minerals, electrolytes and amino acids.

If you under eat and do not have enough fuel to meet your daily energy requirements when you expend more energy by exercising, where will your body get the fuel it needs to perform the activity as well as supply your body with the required nutrients? You guessed it; your body will choose muscle to hand over the nutrients needed.

Consequently if you diet too harshly you’ll lose muscle, strength and your metabolic rate will slow down.

Conversely, you may be one of those who mistakenly think that as long as you exercise, you can eat whatever you want. SOUND THE ALARM! Needing essential nutrients to function but not getting them from the foods you ingest, the body continues to take from your muscle and over time the result is a weaker and flabbier body.

In simpler terms, it’s easier for your body to convert muscle (since it is nutrient rich compared to fat) into the essentials that it needs to function compared to the effort it takes for your body to convert and burn fat.

But the great news is that you can condition your body to burn only bad fat, retain good fats, and use all the good food you ingest towards sustaining a solid healthy foundation.

Think about it this way, if you are guilty of yo-yo dieting and binging, you’ve trained your body to expect seasons of famine and seasons of plenty.

John King's Dad

So in an effort to survive, your body conditions itself to retain fat in an effort to sustain itself during those seasons of famine, aka dieting.

So with each successive diet and binge season, you continue to lose more muscle during famine and retain more fat, resulting in an aging “you” that not only gets fatter, but weaker, leaving you susceptible to all the other so-called claims of aging.

Does this make sense to you? So why exactly do we do this to ourselves?

We do this because we somehow convince ourselves that …

Pain Motivates
_

Somehow we think, that if we loathe ourselves enough, if we make ourselves wrong or small enough, that we’ll create enough discomfort that we’ll want
to make a change.

Anyone who has tried this approach long enough knows that it doesn’t work. What DOES work however, is acknowledging that you no longer have to fear that you’re too small; that the pain is going to overwhelm you.

Speaking with those that have lost over 100 pounds, they all agree that in retrospect every instance when fear has presented itself, it has always seemed scarier than it actually was once you face it instead of running from it. So this is your opportunity to drop kick that notion from dieting and counting calories, to really questioning and looking at your beliefs about your life.

Together, we’ll discover how the body that you’ve spent so much of your life shaming and rejecting, can become your opening to a place that you intimately trust within.

You’ll learn the techniques that will allow you to feed your soul by understanding your feelings and emotions separately from how you choose to nourish your body.

You see, deep down inside, we all share common fears that in some way we aren’t enough; aren’t a good enough spouse, parent, friend or employee. With that belief well entrenched, we also fear that we won’t be loved. But you must believe in yourself; believe that you are fully prepared for taking this next step. It is a “must” because there is a purpose for you in this life whether you believe it at this very moment or not.

Have faith that your whole life, all of your struggles, pains, rejections, tears, suffering, has prepared you for this very moment. You ARE enough, you ARE loved, and the very reasoning for the struggle you’ve waged your whole life, is in fact, your opportunity to your very best life from this moment forward. It is never too late.

Decide to live a life of expectancy and of exceeding happiness. Know that in an instant, a decision you make may alter the course of your life forever if you allow it.

It is your responses to your circumstances and not the circumstances themselves that determine your future.

Does that make sense? You do not have control over the circumstances of your life although we often convince ourselves that we do. All you truly have control over is your thought, determining what you make of the various events of your life.

So here we are. Do you realize you have the power to make a life transforming decision right now? Perhaps you’ve decided to commit to making a decision tomorrow, to commit to a better life as soon as you’ve saved up enough money, as soon as things fall into place or once the kids grow up a little more.

I personally like using the rocking chair test and that is, envision yourself in your chair at 105 years old, looking back on your life. With all of it behind you, what would you give to go back and tell yourself to have the courage to face your fears?

What you decide not to give, you’ll lose forever, but what you decide to courageously offer the world, will be 100% yours to keep.

The most important decision one can make is to never leave the site of setting a goal, without first committing yourself even in the smallest of ways towards its achievement. So what’s your decision? Will today be the day that you decide to align your life with the quality of your soul?

Then focus on the outcome and take the next step towards regaining your life by …

Taking Back Control

We all have various needs that we seek to fulfill through a variety of ways. Two of these needs that are paradoxical are the needs for predictability and the need for unpredictability. To varying degrees, we all seek some sense of comfort, assurance, security, and consistency right? You desire a roof over your head, food on the table, clothes on your back, and the love of your family and friends.

Besides those things that you hope to be certain of, you also have the need for unpredictability, excitement, adventure, and spontaneity do you not? You love surprises don’t you? Of course you do! Well, the surprises that you like right? The surprises you don’t like, you consider challenges.

What do you do with the surprises that you don’t want? What happens when you lose your job or there’s a death in your family or your heart is broken?

Do you find yourself ever asking, why? If only this hadn’t happened, I would be in a much better place. If they would have come and talked to me first, I could have explained myself and potentially have kept my job. If only our relationship was like it was before, I’d be so much happier.

Life can seem like it’s just going in circles, like you’re stuck in the same old rut that you can’t climb out from. Yo-yo dieting can often feel like this circle of repetition, driving down the same old path much like the daily routine of life that’s so easy to accept that it’s “just the way it is.”

So after years and years of accepting that life is “just the way it is,” the disappointment of this limiting belief sucks the life out of you. The natural human reaction to this is typically to hide emotionally, deciding that it’s easier to disappear than it is to contest the belief that there’s nothing more to life than to just endure it.

Often it happens so subtly over time you’re not even aware that you’re pulling yourself away from giving all of you to your work, to your relationship, to your other endeavors.

But why? Why do you do this? In a life that is predictably boring, depressing, lacking love or connection and full of pain and heartache, you naturally seek fulfillment in things that you can be certain will make you happy. And one of these pleasures is food.

It’s extremely sneaky because you argue that you need food to live. But as Shakespeare first asked, is there such a thing as too much of a good thing? I would surmise that the answer is yes, which brings us back to our original questions:

So why do you eat when you’re not hungry? Why do you eat when you’re bored?

You eat when you’re not hungry because you are certain of what food will offer you. It offers you feelings of comfort. It offers you a safe haven from all the pains and headaches that life throws at you by allowing you to focus on nothing but the food at that very moment. No other distractions but that of the feeling of enjoyment in the moment, in whatever it is that you’re consuming.

Can’t it also offer you excitement? Adventure? “Where do you want to go out tonight?” “I wonder if this new restaurant is going to be good or not?” “I’m so excited to try their new special I’ve heard so much about!” You see food can very quickly become an addiction for it can serve the fulfillment of both the need for predictability (certainty), as well as unpredictability (uncertainty).

Understanding that you often eat not only to sustain life, but also to hide or numb yourself from the pains of it, is critically important to your healing process.

When you fully realize that you often run to food as a way of coping with the reality that you can’t control the circumstances in which you live, this honesty will signify the beginning of regaining the control of your life.

People who spend a lifetime losing and regaining the same 50-100+ pounds don’t realize that their addiction to food is only the by-product of their unwillingness to confront the issues that they’re unsure of or afraid to acknowledge.

Have you always been overweight? Have you always questioned your sense of self-worth when it comes to being loved by your loved ones?

Were you neglected affectionately when you were younger or are you being neglected right now? Whatever the case may be, you wouldn’t be here reading this if you weren’t feeling compelled to find a answer to how you can take back the life you know you rightfully deserve.

Again, control is not something that is taken away from you by your life’s circumstances; control is something you unknowingly give away by deciding to behave a certain way. The way you’ve been trying to control your feelings, seeking comfort and excitement with each spoonful, you have in actuality given away control to live the life you truly deserve.

So choose right now to empower yourself and learn not only how to regain control, but also how to introduce honest balance and true happiness into your life by investing in yourself.

Stop throwing away your money and your life by believing that the new fad diet is your key to permanently losing weight.

The actual “HOW” to lose weight is the easy part, but if you don’t understand how you sabotage your own efforts, you won’t be able to sustain weight loss until you master yourself.

You can begin right now by modeling yourself after those who have figured out the “HOW” AND the “WHY!”
